Simple Perfection

The final step in the writing process is editing, but it can be hard to notice errors in your own project. Having an outside eye review your document can result in a powerful, focused piece that is presented the way you intend it to be. I provide compassionate but critical editing of non-fiction works from many different genres, including:

  • science, humanities, mathematics, and education research

  • technical and training manuals

  • product manuals

  • educational materials

  • ESL editing

My clients come from many different parts of the world, and I am comfortable with diverse backgrounds and beliefs. I have years of experience working with ESL writers and the unique challenges they may have. Contact me today to see how I can help you.

MY STORY

I have been editing since 1995, when I moved to Taiwan to teach English after getting my Bachelor of Education degree. One year ended up becoming nearly twenty, during which I founded a successful language school for children and developed a number of corporate English learning programs. I began editing research papers for university professors during this time, and over the years I worked with many talented writers. I returned to Canada in 2014 and began teaching in the public school system, and at the same time began offering my editing services. I never stop learning, and in 2023 I completed the Editing Certificate program at Simon Fraser University. My years of teaching and editing experience, as well as my international perspective, have allowed me to develop the high-quality editing techniques that my clients expect. I am based in Abbotsford BC and live with my wife and two amazing daughters. I love taking on new clients, so drop me a line!
